How we hold this space…

La Lune is built by the people in it. What follows isn't a rulebook so much as a shared way of being. These are the agreements we steward together, one cup at a time.

Everyone's welcome and we celebrate community-care.
Come as you are, from any walk of life. The one thing we ask is care for the people around you. When someone acts outside that care, we respond. Sometimes by asking them to step away for a while. That holds for everyone equally, leaders and long-timers included.

Consent-based culture.
Connection here is offered, never assumed. Ask before you join a table, and know that any invitation can be gently reversed, including your own. If you're ready to return to your book or your own company, just say so. That's always welcome.

Come for connection, not for courtship.
We share tables with strangers, so we keep this a space where safety and curiosity can lead. We are not here to cruise. We are here for connection that stays platonic and unhurried. We celebrate sexuality in all its consensual forms; we simply ask you to find it elsewhere.

We tend the space, and each other.
Collective-care is the practice here, as much as the tea. We look after the room, refill what runs low, and hold the wellbeing of the whole alongside our own. None of us can meet every need but all of us can offer something.

Conflict happens. Repair matters more.
When we bump into one another, and we will, we start with impact, then intention. We don't promise tidy closure, but we do believe in repair and acceptance. Someone from the community can sit in as a neutral third when the way to peace is hard to find.

Beginner's mind, always.
Whether it's your first pot or your thousandth, there's something to learn from the person across the table. We stay curious, humble, and open.

No one is turned away for lack of funds.
Money should never decide who belongs here. Give what you can: a smaller donation, a hand caring for the space, or simply receiving in a time when your own cup runs empty.

These agreements are living things. They'll grow as we do, shaped by your feedback and by what this community comes to need. Bring your voice and help us tend them.
